The Brightly Born

Freyr by Darantha

Freyr by Darantha

The nights were long, the days were cold,
long ago the world was dark, newly-born.
Then rose a tree, a death-witstander,
the towering pine of countless cones.
It promised life, it promised a child,
and Lo! He came with bursting light,
on warm sand, on wet salt,
the Lord Ingui,
the brightly born!
