First Rites

This is a record of the offerings made to three deities several days after this blog opened; for its success, as a way of sharing this project with the Gods and because it’s proper for a polytheistic blog. It stands here in the same way an inscription would next to or in a temple, stating what offerings were made, when and for what purpose.

Janus
On the 4th day before the Ides of May (12th of May), Father Janus, God of Beginnings, was honored with good prayers and good heart and given offerings of wine, incense and cinnamon for the blessing of the beginning of this blog.

Minerva
On the 4th day before the Ides of May (12th of May), Dea Minerva, the Strong and Wise Goddess, was honored with good prayers and good heart and given offerings of wine, incense and olive oil for the blessing of this blog by the work, thoughts and discussions it will host.

Freyr
On the 4th day before the Ides of May (12th of May), Yngvi-Frey, Golden God and Beloved Van, was honored with good prayers and good heart and given offerings of strawberries, apple, raisins, wheat and juice for the blessing of this blog, which was partly named after His tribe.*

ADDENDUM

On the day before the None of April (4th of April), the fourth day of the fourth month of the year 2017 of the Common Era, Mercury, the Fleet-Footed son of Maia, was honoured with good prayers and good heart and given offerings of wine and cinnamon, by which this blog was dedicated to Him, to be a place of tributes and information on a western-Iberian cult to Mercury.

  1. I’m born May 12, international fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and multiple chemical sensitivity day! Is it the Ides of May too?
